An individual who spiked treats with tranquilliser and distributed them to minors at a summer camp in the area has confessed to sexual offenses against two young males both between nine and ten.
The defendant was detained after eight minors and one adult experienced illness at the facility in mid-summer.
The senior citizen, from Ruddington in Nottinghamshire, admitted guilt to a series of 17 offences when he stood at the judicial center on Friday.
Yet, he disputed one particular crime he was facing, which was concerning a nine-year-old child.
The defendant was held in detention ahead of a subsequent court date on November 28th.
'Treat game'
The prosecutor, presenting evidence, described Ruben's offending to the judicial body.
She said his victims were under-privileged children who were attending a youth camp which he operated.
Ruben played a "sweet game" with the minors, Mrs Prior said, in which he would enter the boys' rooms when they were preparing to sleep and ask them to ingest treats "rapidly".
She informed the proceedings Ruben had conducted this practice with the boys "for many years", and children had previously become sick the subsequent day.
She explained Ruben had been able to explain this repeatedly as the youngsters being "overwrought by enjoyment", until his stepson had suspicions in recently.
Mrs Prior KC added: "This year his stepson had concerns about the situation, for good reason.
"They chose" to investigate in the defendant's belongings."
The prosecutor stated materials including baby oil, ointment and medical needles were found, and his stepchild alerted the police about his concerns.
She said Ruben went on to play the "candy game" with six boys that time - July 26th - and they were all ill the next day.
"Law enforcement" had not gone out by that time," she added.
The oversight body, the police conduct office, earlier informed that it was investigating the police response of the incident.
The legal representative explained the youngsters were unable to walk properly due to their sickness, so Ruben's stepson called the authorities again.
She explained the man then engaged in the "treat game" in a space of five youngsters.
